The Protein Data Bank in Europe has *three* openings for software engineers or
scientific programmers (one-year contracts):

(1) The PDBe Team has an opening for a software engineer or scientific
programmer to work in the NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) project. The post
holder will work with an international team developing joint PDB and BMRB
deposition and annotation software in relation to deposition of CCPN projects.
(S)he will also be involved in harvesting, systematisation, visualisation
and/or analysis of structural NMR data such as RDCs. See:
http://www.embl.de/aboutus/jobs/jobs_embl_ebi_hinxton/2010/systems/w_10_044_ebi/index.html

(2) The PDBe Team has an opening for a scientific programmer to work on the
Electron Microscopy Data Bank (EMDB; www.ebi.ac.uk/pdbe/emdb) project. The
goal of this project is to improve the usefulness of EMDB to the EM community
by providing better tools for the analysis and visualisation of complex image
data sets and for the assessment of image quality. The post-holder is expected
to contribute to the design and implementation of software components and
algorithms, in close collaboration with the international project team and
other stake-holders, in particular experimental EM groups in EMBL and
elsewhere. See:
http://www.embl.de/aboutus/jobs/jobs_embl_ebi_hinxton/2010/systems/w_10_045_ebi/index.html

(3) The PDBe Team has an opening for a scientific programmer/software engineer
with extensive experience in both the programming languages Java/jsp and C++.
The post holder will liaise with both IT and scientific staff. In particular,
(s)he will be tasked with the maintenance (including bug fixes and weekly
database updates) and development of three of the team's most advanced and
successful services - PDBeFold, PDBePisa and PDBeMotif. See:
http://www.embl.de/aboutus/jobs/jobs_embl_ebi_hinxton/2010/systems/w_10_049_ebi/index.html

The Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe) Team (pdbe.org) is a founding member of
the worldwide Protein Data Bank organisation (wwwPDB; wwwpdb.org), which
maintains the global archive of structural data on biomacromolecules. The PDBe
Team also maintains a number of databases that support deposition and advanced
search services for structural biologists and the wider scientific community.
The Team consists of an international and inter-disciplinary mix of
professionals (scientists, software engineers, and database engineers).
