News reports have stated that a male, 35 has died from what is
suspected to be the same equine morbillivirus that killed 14
racehorces and their human trainer in Queensland, Australia last
year. The victim apparently assisted his vet wife in post mortems of
racehorses which mysteriously died at the time of the first outbreak.
This is an early press release and could prove to be incorrect, but
if it is correct then this the second emergence of this morbillivirus
which has successfully crossed the species barrier. Don't panic yet!
