let's get a virus FAQ going

	This is true enough, but... so
much of the discussion in this group (and a few other bionet groups)
seems to come from folks who have this kind of "science fiction -
National Enquirer" orientation - well-meaning (most of 'em) but out-of-it.  
	Possibly some sort of posting directing interested
parties to decent preliminary texts, a bibliography
- and explanations for the sort of thing you might actually want
the general public to know (like a (please God) one-time refutation of all
those theories that pop up about whatever virus is in the headlines
this year, or why basic research is a good national investment,
or why virology is too complex to reduce to a cute little FAQ,
or why the movie Outbreak bit - the original poster's questions
weren't great) - would save a certain amount of
bandwidth in the long run.
	One could hope, anyway.
