LSRO appointment

Kara D. Lewis, Ph.D., recently joined the Life Sciences Research Office
(LSRO) as a Staff Scientist.  Dr. Lewis recently completed postdoctoral
research at Yale University.  She obtained her Ph.D. in biology with a
concentration in neuroscience from Clark University and graduated summa
cum laude in biology from Spelman College.  She has conducted research
on taste and smell of the fruitfly, Drosophila melanogaster, and on
molecular mechanisms of sweet taste transduction in the blowfly, Phormia
regina.  She is a member of the Association for Chemoreception
Sciences.  Dr. Lewis will work on LSRO’s added ingredients review and
assist with projects involving taste, flavor, and olfaction.

LSRO is a nonprofit research organization in Bethesda, MD.  It provides
scientific information, analysis and advice for policy and decision
makers in the public and private sectors.  (See www.lsro.org.)
