development. Roche's Non-Clinical Drug Safety department in Basel,
Switzerland, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in toxicogenomics.
The position
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated post-doc to join a
toxicogenomics project investigating the potential of in vitro and in vivo
gene expression analysis for predicting organ toxicity in man. The objective
of the project will be to identify and validate molecular toxicology tools
for use in drug discovery and drug development. The project will focus on
various in vitro methodologies and on in vivo model systems. Follow-up
experiments to confirm or reject mechanistic hypothesis will be an important
part of the work.
Who you are
Applicants must have a PhD in biological sciences, with a strong scientific
background in molecular toxicology. Knowledge of gene expression analysis
(e.g. Northern blots, TaqMan PCR, microarrays) and a strong background in
biochemistry and cell biology are required. Candidates must be committed to
working in an interdisciplinary team and have excellent written and verbal
English communication skills as well as good computational skills.
