POLY AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS AND BREAST CANCER RISK

Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are found everywhere in the environment.
The role of these chemicals in the risk of breast cancer has become a topic
of interest in the scientific community. BCERF now offers consumers a new
fact sheet on the role of PAHs in the risk of breast cancer. To read this
fact sheet go to
<http://www.cfe.cornell.edu/bcerf/factsheet/general/fs41.PAH.cfm> we have
also posted a bibliography on PAHs to compliment this fact sheet. The
bibliography is available from the fact sheet or you can go there directly
at <http://www.cfe.cornell.edu/bcerf/bibliography/general/bib.PAH.cfm>

FACT SHEETS SUMMARIZE CRITICAL EVALUATIONS FOR CONSUMERS

Three of our newest fact sheets summarize our most recent efforts in
evaluating the breast cancer risk associated with hormone replacement
therapy, and PAHs. We are also proud to announce a revised version of our
fact sheet evaluating DDT and breast cancer risk. All of these fact sheets
are available from the fact sheet directory on the BCERF web at -

RESPONSE TO ANTIPERSPIRANT EMAIL URBAN LEGEND

Many of our readers have seen or received an email about a rumored
connection between antiperspirants and breast cancer. This urban legend
circulates within electronic communities, spreading false information. To
find out the real facts read the BCERF response to the antiperspirant and
breast cancer myth.
