Risk Factors Program in New York State (BCERF). This is a service provided
by BCERF to keep our sponsors and supporters informed of changes and
additions to the website. Thank you for your interest in our program and

BCERF strives to provide information on environmental risk factors
and the risk of breast cancer and other hormonal dependent cancers. We
provide information in a variety of forms that allows our readers to make
informed decisions for the reduction of breast cancer risk.

BCERF IS RECOGNIZED BY HON Code?
Early in July the BCERF website was awarded the right to display the HON
Code logo. This award certifies that the BCERF website provides accurate
health information. It also assures our readers that we comply with a set
of ethical standards defined by the Health On the Net Foundation (HON).

POLY AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS AND BREAST CANCER RISK
Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are found everywhere in the environment.
The role of these chemicals in the risk of breast cancer has become a topic
of interest in the scientific community. BCERF now offers consumers a new
fact sheet on the role of PAHs in the risk of breast cancer. To read this

FACT SHEETS SUMMARIZE CRITICAL EVALUATIONS FOR CONSUMERS
Three of our newest fact sheets summarize our most recent efforts in
evaluating the breast cancer risk associated with hormone replacement
therapy, and PAHs. We are also proud to announce a revised version of our
fact sheet evaluating DDT and breast cancer risk. All of these fact sheets

RESPONSE TO ANTIPERSPIRANT EMAIL URBAN LEGEND
Many of our readers have seen or received an email about a rumored
connection between antiperspirants and breast cancer. This urban legend
circulates within electronic communities, spreading false information. To
