Emissions from automobile paint shops

Folks,

For the last two years I have been working with various local/state
environmental departments trying to find out what toxic chemicals are =
being
emitted by two local autobody paintshops.  I publish a neighborhood =
website
and began the project after the second shop was approved over =
neighborhood
objections and without detailing emissions.

I have received and published an analysis from the Johnson County, KS,
Environmental Department.  This analysis focuses on the two metallic
carcinogens identified as being emitted from the shops:  lead chromate =
and
zinc chromate.  The study includes the facts, assumptions, estimates,
analysis, and results.  The Kansas Department of Health and Environment
reviewed it.  The California Air Resources Board helped me ask the right
questions.  An earlier study looked into volatile organic compounds.

I am not a toxicologist, environmental scientist, or other expert in =
these
matters.  The report shows that the emitted quantities are so low that =
they
would have negligible health effect.

If any of you could review the report and tell me whether its =
conclusions
in your opinion are reasonable, I and my neighbors would much appreciate
it.  I will publish with attribution any comments sent to me unless
specifically asked not to.
