A very introductory book is A. Ottoboni, The Dose Makes the Poison: A
Plain-Language Guide to Toxicology, 2nd Ed., Van Nostrand Reinhold.
There might be better ones. Check with the Enviromental Tox Dept. at UC
Davis at http://etx.ucdavis.edu. I think they have an Intro to Env. Tox.
book as well.
