Pathogens in Rivers

I am doing some research on some of the small organisms and parasites
that are found in rivers.  Espically the French Broad, Tennessee, Ohio,
and Mississippi Rivers.  Does anyone know any good places to begin my
research on this subject.  I would appreciate an e-mail, I don't get to
read newsgroups that much.
