The Organisation

Our client, Quintiles, is the world's second largest pre-clinical 
contract research organisation with a turnover of $160m and 2000 
employees in 16 countries.  They evaluate the safety of pharmaceutical, 
chemical and agrochemical products, serving many of the world's top 
pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.  Quintiles has a leading 
edge approach to preclinical research and prides itself on its ability 
to deliver quality work to tight deadlines.

The Job

Quintiles need a competent, experienced Veterinary Pathologist with a 
toxicological background to join their toxicology/pathology department.  
Reporting to the Director of Pathology you wilbe expected to interpret 
pathology and toxicology data to meet regulatory requirements, 
working mainly on dogs and rodents.  It is essential to be a qualified 
vet with a minimum of 3 years experience of evaluating 
histopathological material, ideally in a contract research environment. 
Full or part MRCPath qualification is desirable; Quintiles positively 
encourages working towards full membership.  The job requires extensive 
slide reading to meet tight deadlines.  You will need well developed 
communication and interpersonal skills and be a good team worker.

Remuneration

Salary is negotiable up to 35k + bonus and other benefits.  
Reasonable relocation expenses will be paid.

Location

Ledbury is an attractive and historic market town with a population of 
8000 situated in the middle of England in the beautiful county of 
Hereford and Worcester.  Located in delightful countryside just to the 
west of the Malvern Hills (home of the composer Elgar), it offers a 
wide range of facilities to suit everyone's lifestyle, including good 
schools relatively inexpensive housing, good shopping and sports 
facilities.  Excellent road and rail connections exist.  Birmingham 
International Airport is 1.25 hour's drive.
