The Scientific World Journal: Communication <http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/si/308763/cfp/> in Planta
Call for Papers
Recent advances in plant science reveal that plants possess complex forms of communication and information processing. They are capable of learning and taking decisions about their future activities according to the environmental conditions in relation to their environment. They use not only action potentials but also synaptic modes of cell–cell communication. Plant signaling and communication occur at all levels of biological organization – from molecules up to ecological communities. Their complex information processing is essential in the plant immune system, abilities of plants to recognize self, signal transduction, defense responses, and other aspects of plant cell biology, electrophysiology, and ecology.
We invite overview and original papers describing current and expected investigations aimed at understanding communication within the plant in its whole complexity. Both experimental and theoretical papers are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
· Communication in planta in general (e.g., during growth and development)
· Communication in planta in response to biotic stimuli (pests, pathogens, etc.)
· Communication in planta in response to abiotic stimuli (heat, cold, drought, salinity, nutrient, light, gravity, temperature, etc.)
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at <http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/> http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at <http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/tswj/botany/copl/> http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/tswj/botany/copl/ according to the following timetable:
