Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a microarray core facility
manager. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining Affymetrix core
equipment and providing service to University users. Duties include
generating raw data with user-supplied samples and microarrays, updating
application software as needed, and interacting with facility users and
computer support staff. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for
evaluating new technologies, implementing new protocols, establishing a
rate structure for the facility and maintaining the facility budget. The
duties of this position require the ability to independently conduct
experiments under the supervision of an established researcher and to work
effectively as a team member.
Required qualifications: Master's degree in Biology, Genetics or a related
field and two years of relevant professional experience with molecular
biology techniques are required. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in a
related field, experience with genomics research and technologies, and
quality control.
Salary/wages will be commensurate with experience. To guarantee
