SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL


The School of Biological Sciences is seeking to fill three lectureships,
one in each of the following areas:

PLANT DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY
PLANT ECOLOGY (or ecology of plant - animal interactions)
INVERTEBRATE BIOLOGY (particularly aquatic invertebrates)
/ ECOLOGY OF PLANT-ANIMAL INTERACTIONS 
PLANT DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY

The appointees will be either established scientists with a proven
publication record and significant grant income, or individuals with
outstanding promise.  Successful candidates will be expected to
contribute fully to both research and teaching within the School,
details of which can be found at the following web site:
http://www.bio.bris.ac.uk/.  Appointments will be made on the Lecturer
scale (currently 16,655xx - 29,048 poundsxx) or higher, if appropriate. 
We welcome applications from individuals holding Research Fellowships
who wish to secure a proleptic appointment.  Letters of application
should include a statement of future research goals and indicate the
areas of teaching to which you could contribute.  All applications must
include a comprehensive CV together with the names and addresses of

The closing date for receipt of applications is 1st July 1999. 
Interviews are expected to take place in mid-August.
