XYRIS Corporation

Exciting Careers in Agricultural Biotechnology

XYRIS Corporation is a newly founded agricultural biotechnology company
dedicated to the discovery and utilization of novel plant genes for the
production of agronomically important traits in major crop species and to
the discovery of novel therapeutic compounds for applications in animal
health. We are currently hiring a world-class research staff, and we are
seeking highly talented, motivated and creative individuals for research
positions at the group leader, staff scientist, and technician levels.
Applicants should provide evidence of technical expertise and
productivity in one or more areas of plant molecular biology, molecular
genetics, molecular physiology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
Individuals with demonstrable success in using genetic model systems
(animal, plant or fungal) to study signal transduction, gene regulation
and expression and/or disease pathogens or pests are especially
encouraged to apply.

XYRIS has obtained an exclusive worldwide license to the broad
biotechnology platform of Axys Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for agricultural
applications. These technologies include structural and functional
genomics, bioinformatics, structural biology, combinatorial chemistry,
and robotic high-throughput systems. We are also acquiring a number of
additional technologies necessary for the achievement of our goals in
genetic engineering. Members of our scientific advisory board include
Roger Beachy (Donald Danforth Plant Science Center), Ethan Signer (MIT),
Richard Michelmore (UC, Davis), and Carlos Barbas. For more information
please visit our web site (http://www.xyrisco.com).

XYRIS has immediate openings and offers a competitive package of
compensation, health benefits, and retirement plan (401K). We are located
only minutes from the Pacific Ocean in "Biotech Beach" near the Scripps
Research Institute, Salk Institute, UCSD, and proposed Novartis
Agricultural Discovery Institute. CVs containing research interests and
three references should be sent by regular mail to XYRIS Corporation,
