Plant Molecular Biologist (Postdoctoral Position)
to work on:
Characterization of signal transduction mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana
Dedicated scientists holding a Ph.D. with experience in plant molecular
biology and genetics are invited to apply by sending their CV and the
names of three referees to
Dr. Klaus Apel, Institute of Plant Sciences, ETH Z=FCrich, CH 8092
Z=FCrich, Switzerland. (Telephone: 0041-1-632 3821; Fax 0041-1-632 1239;
e-mail:klaus.apel at ipw.biol.ethz.ch).
The successful candidate is expected to lead a project aimed at
characterizing signal transduction mutants isolated previously in our
laboratory and at identifying new mutants through which components of
the signal transduction pathways can be identified that are either
unique for a particular stress situation (e.g. pathogen attack) or
common to several different stress responses. The work includes mapping
and transposon tagging of mutated genes and physiological studies of
mutants.
This research position at the Institute of Plant Sciences is available
as early as
June 1st 1998 for 2-3 years with the possibility of extension.
