An EEC (EU Framework IV- Biotech) postdoctoral position is available
at the Laboratoire de Biologie Cellulaire, INRA, Versailles, FRANCE.
Our goal is to investigate nitrate signalling in Arabidopsis thaliana
through the isolation of mutants affected in nitrate sensing and also
to study the post-translational inactivation of nitrate reductase by
phosphorylation with a particular emphasis on the role of the binding
of 14-3-3 proteins. These questions will mainly be addressed by the
use of transgenic (expressing mutated forms of nitrate reductase)
and/or mutant plants (either T-DNA tagged lines or plants expressing a
reporter gene under the control of a nitrate-regulated promoter). The
yeast two-hybrid system will also be used for the search of proteins
interacting with nitrate reductase.
This project is part of an EU Framework IV Biotech-program aiming at
understanding nitrogen signalling in plants. Our lab is located at 20
km south-west of Paris and has a strong background on nitrogen
metabolism. You will be part of a team of 4 permanent scientists
working on nitrate assimilation.
Candidates should have experience in biochemistry/protein chemistry,
molecular biology and plant transformation. Experience with
protein kinases would be appreciated.
The position will be for a period of 2 years and is open.
Applicants should send (before September 30) a CV with a list of
publications, a brief statement of research experience and interests
and the names of 3 references (with phone numbers and Email) to:
