The current choice is dental impression material, "light body, surface
activated ISO 4823, Type 3, low consistency Polyvinylsolixane
(addition-type)" President Plus Jet (Art.#4600) from Coltene Whaledent
(Cuyahoga Falls, OH, productinfo from coltenewhaledent.com). Comes in 48 ml
doublebarreled syringe (2/box) that requires their dedicated injector
gun (DMA-50). Works nicely (Arabidopsis) for going back to same leaf
domain for developmental series. Not so well for surveying hundreds of
leaves (once each) for total *counts* for index and density
determinations. For that, we use Revlon 960 Double Twist nail varnish
and double stick tape on a slide.

I've heard from a lab downstairs about some superfast hardening nail
varnish from Austria that works exceedingly well. But no experience
with that.
