noted below to anyone who might be interested in applying for
the opening. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,

POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
A postdoctoral position will become available starting February 1,
l994, for a person interested in studying oxygen-evolution,
electron donation, and photoactivation processes in PSII.
Biochemical, spectroscopic, and electrochemical approaches are
used with membrane/submembrane fractions obtained from plants and
from site-directed (cyanobacterial) mutants. See the following:
(1991) Biochemistry 30, 9615 and 9625; (1992) Research in
Photosynthesis (Murata, ed.) Vol. II, 357; and (1993)
Photosynthesis Research (Dec. issue in press). Structural
studies of PSII and functional studies of the isolated PSII
reaction center are also of interest to the laboratory but are
ancillary to this position (see [1992] Photochemistry and
Photobiology 56, 263 and [1993] The Photosynthetic Reaction
Center [Deisenhofer and Norris, eds.] Vol. I, 319). The position
is for one year with the possibility of extension, the salary is
highly competitive, and US citizens/permanent residents as well as
women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Interested
candidates should send a CV with list of publications; a cover
letter with statement of research interests; and the names,
addresses, and telephone numbers of three professional references
whom we can contact to:
