Viruses of Parasites

Iridoviridae, DNA containing viruses, have a subgroup called Iridescent
viruses of: Mollusks, annelids, protozoa. ref. Virology 126:317, 1983.

In researching a recent chapter on virology, I found that
classifications are largely the result of unfortunate choices made
without full understanding of virus taxonomy.  For instance, viruses in
the same family, eg. Rhabdoviridae, may infect higher animals, insects
