Can parasites in fish feces survive long enough to infect bottom dwellers
such as crabs, etc that scavenge the sea floor for food. My interest is
in the siting of fish farms. Should they be removed from areas used for
the harvest of other seafood creatures? Fish farms have a high density
of fish with the resultant production of feces. If parasites can survive
in seawater (4 - 10 degrees Celsius) then perhaps this may be a problem
when other creatures consume the feces? Any thoughts on this?
