Dear Dr. Zessin:

Would it be possible for you to post scanned images of the unidentified eggs
to this newsgroup? It might be an interesting exercise for those interested in
your querry to have a look at these most interesting materials. It might make
for some very interesting and lively discussion both in terms of speciation and
in contemplation of the life cycle mechanics that come into play in the lowland
gorilla. Thanks for any such consideration and good luck with your quest.

Dear bionet-parasitology users,

I am seeking your kind assistance for the identification of endoparasites
(helminths) of eastern lowlands gorillas. One of my students conducted a field
study on faecal parasites of this gorilla in the Kahuzi-Biega National Park in
Zaire from march 93 to October 93. She presently is writing up her thesis. We
have problems in identifying three helminth eggs and larvae. We have tried
several parasitologists in Germany and outside but were unsuccessful.
The samples were collected up to 6 hours after defaecation and conserved in
MIF solution.

Can any of you give us assistance or refer us to specialists?
We do have photographs of the parasites and some remaining MIF samples.

Thanks in advance
