[Neuroscience] gaudiception

At page 320 of Nieuwenhuys, Voogd and van Huijzen’s (2008) “The Human 
Central Nervous System” I found the word “gaudiception”, but google only 
returns the very same book as where I found it in. What word did they 
have in mind and what does it mean? This is its context: “The 
spinothalamic component of the anterolateral funiculus, known to form 
part of the circuitry concerned with perception of temperature, touch, 
and pain, is most probably also involved in gaudiception.”
