POSTDOCTORAL/phd POSITIONS in NEUROPHYSIOLOGY
Two Wellcome Trust and NIH funded postdoctoral positions and/or PhD studentships are available for up to seven years in the laboratory of Gabor Tamas to investigate the mechanisms of slow, GABAB receptor mediated in cortical neurons (Science 2003, 299, 1902; J Neurosci 2005, 25, 6278). Salary is based on experience and includes benefits. The positions are open immediately, but startup can be delayed.
Specific skills that are not essential but which would enhance a candidate's application might include experience in patch clamp techniques and/or in neuronal modelling. Using state of the art quadruple patch clamp setups, the successful applicant will contribute to recordings for studying identified connections in the cortical microcircuit and/or will help to develop experiment based models of GABAA-GABAB receptor function.
Applicants should send CV, contact information of a reference laboratory, description of interests, experience and career objectives to Gabor Tamas, Department of Comparative Physiology, University of Szeged, Kozep fasor 52, Szeged, H-6726 Hungary; Phone: +36 62 544851. (gtamas at bio.u-szeged.hu)
Closing date: 30 September 2005.
Gábor Tamás, PhD
Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow
