Hi
I'm looking for a simple overview of stats, something that won't give
me the formulas, but will give me a sense of what they're about
I'd like to get a very basic understanding of the stats in a paper I'm
reading.
(Its an attempt to prove that hypnosis is a real condition, using pet.
...& I think its pretty poor)
Here's some
left Fusiform x-34 y -72 z -12 zScore 3.69
I get that the first three are spatial coordinates, but what's a
zScore?
Then there's
F=8.69 dF=1,7 p=.02
I understand that p= in >= 2% of cases the result is likely to be
true,
but what's F & dF
Then theres
SD=3.9
I guess that's standard deviation?
And
T=1.6
OK that's a T test.
So what does a T test tell me?
Is there maybe a simple web page that describes this?

The paper is
