Gee, you really want to start with the whys? Okay then,
WHY should a little girl grow up thinking that's just the way daddies
show love? WHY should a 19 year old girl walk into a police station,
battered and bruised, to report a rape only to be asked if she was
"sure (she) was raped"? WHY should a woman have her chair kicked out
from under her because she doesn't get her "man's" beer fast enough to
suit him? WHY should a woman be dragged by her hair down a flight of
cement stairs and forced to have ALL kinds of sex with her husband,
and his friends? WHY should a woman have to stick to a time limit when
grocery shopping? WHY should a man be able to spend the family
paycheck (brought home by the woman) on "party favors" for himself and
his friends?
The sad part about all of these why's is because the woman considers
herself lucky. It could have been MUCH worse.
And guess what, the woman (that's right, 1 woman all this happened to,
but not the only woman to have these types of things happen to her)
decided she wasn't going to take anymore of it. On the day she
decided this, she was standing in the Sheriff's Office with a perfect
imprint of her husband's hand on the left side of her face, and a
lovely blue upper right arm, only to have the Sheriff's Deputy ask
her, "Well, what you do to him to make him hit you?"
It only took a split second to make that decision.
My answer, "Not nothing near as bad as what I'll do if the fucker hits
me again."
In other words, Dick, people get treated the way they let themselves
get treated. Think about it before you carry on your whining again
with me.
