I'm curious if anyone in the field would venture a guess as to the effects of
chronic nicotine use (without the tobacco) would have on Alzheimers. If there
is little affect for nicotine use in Alzheimers patients, it is one thing, but
if there is a modification of receptor populations or reuptake/metabolism that
can be seen as protective, its another. It seems that the data is out there in
these studies of smokers, but I am unaware of any formal attempts to pull that
information out.
