I suggest you first visit a physician and ask about tinnitus. Sometimes
your
ears (or the auditory systems in your brain) can produce high frequency
sounds just like what you describe.
I have had ringing in my ears continuously for several decades now. It is
usually just mildly annoying but sometimes is very distracting and
unpleasant. I have been examined by audiologists twice who reassure
me that there is nothing seriously wrong. But they indicate that there
certainly are many people for whom the sounds are truly unbearable.
There are things they can do. See your physician!
