What sources are available to find the average cost per day of the
average
person in a persistent vegetative state (with ventilator)? This would
include the cost of acute care as well as rehab or nursing home/SNF
care.
Do those costs remain fairly constant for a period of time while the
person is in a SNF or rehab facility, then become more costly as
the individual nears the end of their life expectancy?
This request is for a legal case, so I need authoritative, recent, and
fairly sophisticated sources.
