My human anatomy is a little rusty but I believe STS refers to the sulcus
temporalis superior, generally the highest sulcus on the lateral surface of the
temporal lobe. It is located just outside the temporal opercular cortex, I
believe. The STS is generally known as a "visual association area" for whatever
that means.
