Maximum brain activity on evening : why ?

Well, some of us have it start at midnight, and then a crash ar 6-7 am
-- and for it to remain stable over long periods of time and through
moves.

I just wish I knew if it was due to a paradoxical action of melatonin,
atypical reaction to daylight cues, or something else.
