Hello!
I'm a portuguese medical student new over here and I'd like to post a
question.
My father is 59 years old and has Alzheimer's disease diagnosed since 1995.
It was now diagnosed a non-oat
cell carcinoma in the lung, probably a squamous carcinoma. He is now doing
chemotherapy with cis-platinium (I think that he is taking other cytostatic
drugs, but I do not know their names.) .
He is being medicated with donepezil and nimodipine.
Is there any interaction between the Cytostatic drugs and Alzheimer's or
between Cytostatic drugs and donepezil or nimodipine?
Would it be worth to stop chemotherapy in case of decompensation?

I would like to know your opinion about this ethical and clinical
question...
Please reply on this newsgroup.

Yours faithfully

Luis Mendonça
