LECTURER
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
We invite applications for this three-year contract post for appointment
from 1 April 2000.
Responsibilities include:
- setting up and running a state-of-the-art high resolution
electroencephalography (EEG) research laboratory;
- collaborating with basic scientists and clinicians in the fields of
anaesthetics, exercise science, neurosurgery and psychology;
- teaching biomedical signal processing, PC data acquisition and medical
instrumentation to both undergraduate and post-graduate engineering
students;
- contributing to the research activities of the Faculty of Health
Sciences.
Requirements:
- A PhD with specialisation in biomedical signal processing,
neurophysiology and experience in EEG analysis
Experience and knowledge in the following areas would be highly
desirable:
- multichannel digital EEG recording systems;
- design of EEG experimental paradigms;
- multivariate spectral analysis;
- non-linear analysis, including complexity and chaos;
- Matlab;
- Programming in C++ under Windows and Unix environments;
- Use of EEG analysis tools such as ASA, Curry and EMSE.
