Number of Brain-Specific Genes?

Oops, forgot to mention this before I posted.

Johnny, you're abit optimistic when you say "when it reaches about a
100". At what point do you decide when to electrophorese, since you
don't know when there is a countable quantity. I guesstimate there to
be an unfeasible amount to electrophorese though.

Also, I forgot to mention alleles (from chimerism) and multiple splice
variants. These would count as "different genes" in your methodolgy
when the cDNA hybridises, but I doubt many people consider them
different genes per se.
