remember the 'no-numbers' Maths discussion i posted a short while back...
computing via relative-lengths... 'spaghetti' example :-)
(also discussed years ago in another online 'place', and in the presented but
unpublished 1983 paper)
the 'no-numbers' Maths is in the the loop circuits' infinitely-variable
relative lengths, the same stuff permeates the nervous system at all
'levels'... intra-cortical dynamics, where circuit lengths are innately
shortest, are some of the fastest, but it's not restricted to intra-cortical
dynamics, it also occurs inter-cortically (AoK, Ap6),
cortico-sub-cortical-cortical, within sub-cortical nuclear complexes, within
the brainstem, cerebellum, and all the way down the spinal cord.
it's all 'no-numbers', relative-lengths, Maths... add the ionic marshalling of
glia, and it's Maths that's up to the infinite scope of the problems which
confront our nervous systems.
