Hello
I have a patient with the age of six months and congenital
hydrocephalus. He have three cystics structures, and two
ventriculo-peritoneal valves. With four months he developed hipssaritmia
and the crisis was not controled with valproate and nitrazepan. With
five months he puted the second derivation and initiates dexametazone.
In one week the EEG was focal, the hipssaritmia and the convulsions has
disapeared. It was my first case of disapearence of the hipssatimic EEG
in just one week of corticoides therapy. The neurossurgeon believes that
there is no relation of the relieve of intracranial pressure and the
change in EEG. Does someone have any experience in short therapy with
dexametazone and the control of the crisis in West Syndrome and the
disapearence of the hipssarritmic patern of EEG?
