Merrily guessing, though I do not exclude that this is nonsense, if
areas of the thalamus are a center of what I call the sequencer, then
it is far less pain sensitive than when I myself am registering pain.
However I have no direct (sub)perceiving powers for the sequencer's
areas including the thalamus.
