i did read, Frank, and i read the _New York Times_ in the belief that they
take Journalistic Principles =seriously=.

it was just that, since i'd not read in the literature for years, on reading
the _NYT_ 'report', i =assumed= that it was accurate.

i've already explained what i did, to Honor Science, after my initial reply,
and i stand on what i've posted.

it'd be different if i wasn't in the position i am in... income taken away,
and all... i've little expectation that my work will be 'dealt with' Justly,
and much concrete evidence that my expectation is not unfounded.

still, i choose to hold the 'door' open. i've no 'control' over what others
do, nor do i want any such 'control'.

...but if you purchase a copy of the _New York Times_, or the _Wall Street
Journal_ (or any other newspaper that presents good graphical
representations of 'stock market' dynamics, you'll see that, when i
announced my proposed 'firesale', the 'stock market' soared. when i withdrew
my offer, it declined... it's headed back where it was before the
'firesale'.

meanwhile, with every 'unusual' move in the 'stock market', there've been
'cover stories' appearing in the 'news'.

i'm just talking about this one instance, but can demonstrate
exceedingly-much-more of the Same-Stuff.

the "5th friend's" 'night-vision-goggles', and all that.

i will, if it goes forward. the offer came from a poster in this NG... i've
not heard back on any date or place, and, in fact, do not have reason, at
this 'time', to expect that it will go forward.

all i'm doing is protecting the individual involved in case, for whatever
reason, he's 'reconsidered' his offer... i'd do the same for you and
everyone else.

in case you've not 'gotten-it', the fact that no one's taken me up on my
offer to present, in-person, speaks for itself, doesn't it.

either 'it's obvious' to everyone that 'i'm not worthy' of an in-person
presentation opportunity...

...or there's some other reason that i've not been granted such, even though
i've asked so many 'times'.

with respect to the first 'possibility', i can see that some would deny my
'worthiness' on grounds pertaining to the 'style' of my online posts.

it's been part of the rationale for my 'style' that i don't want to be
involved with folks who put 'style' before substance, anyway.

but no one has ever posted anything of substance that would constitute any
'acceptable rationale' for denying me an in-person presentation opportunity.

you don't get it, do you?

all i'm doing is documenting things for folks who think for themselves.
