Problems with Netcom/Mindspring (yes, I know, off-topic)

Sorry for the off-topic crossposting, but I am desperate.

Last week, there was a period of at least 48 hours when unable to
log-in, usually got "no info avvailable" recording to phone call,
eventually reference to "massive hardware problem" that engineers were
ware of and wee working on; no prognosis.

Mndspring "help" page re "Network Status" lists various problems at
least as far back as June and perhaps as recent as today, but NOTHING
in that long list (Atlanta, San Jose, etc.) about problem in NYC!

NOW:  Cannot retrieve my mail (problem began abouut two days ago?), at
least not in normal way; able to get old mail VERY slowly via button in
toolbar of window for www, newsgroups, etc.--but seems suspiciously
incomplete for last ttwo days or so.

AM I THE ONLY ONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH NETCOM (WHICH SEEM TO HAVE
GOTTEN MUCH WORSE AFTER ACQUISITION BY MINDSPRING)??

I see (on the "help" page) est. wait time on call to Support is
currntly 16 minutes...

Needless to say, no point emailing an answer to me.
