Doubts about NN

I responded to this query when postted a week or so ago--in another
newsgrouP

Is it a question about Chi-square? (see any elementary stat text)
Is it a question about NN or some particular application in NN?
Chi-square has a very limited use, i.e. to determine if obtained
frequencies of some event or categorized variable differ from expected
frequencies. Can't imagine it being in any way "special" in the
context of validating NN outtcomes.
