book about the brain and its functions

A book with a phone number rather than a publisher and publication
date? A book by an author with no (peer-reviewed) JOURNAL articles one
may sample before deciding it is worth-while obtaining the book?

Does NOT sound like a good book to recommend to someone who is
obviously not at a level of education (in the area of neurosciences) to
separate out wheat from chaff, sense from nonsense.

Knowing personally someone who has played a very important role in
establishing the role of excitotoxins in hippocampal damage due to
seizure, and giving considerable attention to the role of excitotoxins
(i.e. over-produced excitatory amino acid transmitters) in other
conditions (stroke, head trauma), I think I would have noticed if
someone had "solved" the Alzheimer's puzzle(s) by reference to them;
maybe I just haven't noticed, but--?

I suspect (from title and description) the other book may deserve the
old Russian (Soviet era) quip: "Shto Izviestia nye Pravda; i shto
Pravda, nye Izviestia!"
