sorry if this is a 'duplicate' post... my ISP is dropping my connection like
crazy... requires me to do things over and over again [and leads me to doubt
the veracity' of my participation in newsgroups... and that the umbrella of
the First Ammendment applies to me.]

anyway...

['mysterious' Historical comment:] the only modification inherent in
"'cinnamon' is 'nomanis', said backward" is a one-bit change in the
directionality of energy-flow... it's as small a change as is recognized by
computer scientists... yet it, superficially, transforms the verbal-symbol,
exactly the same except for this one-bit modification, into something that's
experienced as being 'entirely-different'.

to see this, one can take an old reel-to-'real' tape recorder, record the
word 'cinnamon', open up the machine, disconnect power to the reel-driving
motor while leaving power to the magnetic head intact, and run the tape
across the magnetic head backward... 'nomanis'.

what's the point?

it's a little demonstration of how precisely everything within physical
reality is correlated with the one-way flow of energy from order to disorder
that is what's described by 2nd Thermo (wdb2t).

as i said, it's a "'mysterious' Historical comment", seemingly trivial, but
actually of exceeding importance, in more ways than one.

cheers, K. P. Collins (ken)
