['mysterious' Historical comment:] computer scientists'd recognize this as
'a one-bit change' that's correlated with the directionality of the inherent
energy flow.

to check it out, get out an old tape recorder, record 'cinnamon', then open
up the device, and while leaving power to the magnetic head intact,
disconnect power to the motor, and move the tape 'backward' across the
magnetic head.

the only thing that changes is the directionality of the energy flow...
one-bit... yet the 'word' is experienced as something entirely different.

what's the point?

it's just a little demonstration of how precisely everything within physical
reality is correlated to the one-way flow of energy from order to disorder
that is what's described by 2nd Thermo (wdb2t).

[as i said, it's a "'mysterious' Historical comment" :-) ...but one that is,
in many ways, of exceeding importance... 'eye of the needle' stuff.]
