Depends upon how the word energy is defined. EEGs which are used as
tools to help diagnose the many different kinds of epilepsies tend to
measure voltages in terms of millivolts. The human brain generates
energy from the food and water (good environmental nutrition) the body
consumes. Glucose is often seen as a kind of energy fuel for the brain.
Looking up articles on the brain in the major encyclopedias might yield
a range of numbers regarding the amount of energy used by the human
brain and as you know human brains come in different sizes, shapes and
weights so any figure given would likely be quite general in nature
(like asking what is the average shoe size for animals classified as
human beings).
