Proof that ants are conscious?

ants move away from noxious stimulation, except when it comes as a threat to
the survival of their nesting population.

both of the above actions could be hard-wired, but the transition between
them cannot be, because this'd diminish adaptability.

note, i'm not asserting that ants are tiny Mozarts. i'm just saying that
there's a bit of free choice in them... that they experience a bit of
generalized "alarm" before their "nervous systems" settle into decisions on
either side of the above two actions. in that bit of generalized "alarm"
exists the stuff of "consciousness".

it's no "big deal".

the only "problem" has been that humans have been "consciousness"
chauvanists.
