One more thing:
A couple of weeks back, the radiator in my car sprang a leak, and I brought the
car to a garage to have it serviced. As it turned out, things at work kept me
late and, although the car was ready, I the garage was closed, so I had to walk
home. My route took me by Chicopee Police Headquarters, and, since there was a
dangerous traffic situation occurring routinely on the road that I travel home
on, I stopped in to ask the police to take action with respect to it. That's
why I was at the police station that night. But what's in my heart tonight is
what I read on a plaque outside of the HQ complex:
"In Memory of Sgt. Steven Breck Lariviere
United States Marine Corps
Born: September 26, 1961
Died: October 23, 1983
Beiruit, Lebanon
Steven died for peace. It is as important sometimes to tand in restraint as it
is to use force.
Semper Fidelis"
I agree.
