Gramma.1jul99-B.43-ATM.new Amiga file preamble notes:
Today thurs1jul1999 we have acted on our new policy of immediately
uploading to Gramma's Amiga BBS at 425-744-1254 any significantly
new upgrade to Amiga Mind.Forth AI, so as to make the AI program
ultimately available to the world despite any catastrophic loss.
The major upgrade today involved the removal of a very bothersome
bug, the inability of Mind.Forth, when making sentences out of
activated lexical items in the uk{ } array, to find concepts that
had just been entered into Mind.Forth as user input.
The problem turned out to be that in 32-SPREADACT, only uniform
activations were being passed up, not *relative* activations.
After the bug-fix, when you type in, "Horses eat hay," Mind.Forth
answers, "HAY EAT HORSES" -- a vast improvement over "I SEE I."
Mind.Forth is currently getting the subjects and objects wrong
because both have equal activation, and the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO)
situation erroneously selects the previous object as the new subject.
An upcoming bug-fix to carry verb-associations forward during
reentry should simultaneously fix the problem of mixing up
subjects and objects.
