Maybe it's critically dependent to have a set of well-innervated vocal
cords and a life in the air to be able to evolve as "smart": to what
extent is our symbolic representational behavior making us "smart"?

Maybe if you allow fro a "dumb" dolphin to be able to extensively
represent symbolically it will become "smart".
(monkeys seems to learn up to infant level).

So, is it just the brainweight/bodyweight ratio important.......? 
Just amking my point that it's such a huge simplification imho that
it's useless.

BTW: it's been suggested thta Dolphins do use symbolic
repreesentations, using ultrasonic "vocalizations"whic might appear
"similar" to what the animal is representing.
Anybofy know this litereature....?
