It's usually best to treat the serious questions seriously, the
flippant questions flippantly, and the kooky tirades in whatever
way seems fit since the kooks don't pay attention anyway.
The tought part for us who are trying to learn the subject is
in determining in which category the question belongs. You
seem to have mistaken a serious question as a kooky question.
