Well, thank you, Ken. I don't think this worked with the VERY old Netscape I had been using, but just this morning a helpful Netscape/Mindspring rep told me how to get new newsgroup articles via my hitherto unused NetComplete upgrade, so I tried your suggestion, and--by Jove, it worked!
