UNIVERSITY OF LUND
DEPARTEMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate to join a group
at the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Physiology. Research within the
group currently focuses on cell physiological studies on the insulin
secretory process. Techniques utilised include patch-clamp recordings,
capacitance measurements, microfluorimetry, digital imaging, electron
microscopy and confocal microscopy. Recent publications include: The EMBO
Journal 14: 50-57, 1995; Science 271: 813-815; and Neuron 17:513-522, 1996.
The successful candidate will be engaged in a project combining molecular
biology with electrophysiology. Documented experience in molecular biology
and/or protein biochemistry is therefore required. The post is funded by the
Faculty of Medicine and is available immediatly for a period of two years
with a possibility of an extension for another two years. Equipment will be
provided and costs for consumables covered.
Applicants should hold, or expect to be holding, a Ph.D. in a relevant
subject. Previous experience in signal transduction and/or studies on
mechanisms of secretion advantageous. Informal enquiries can be made by
email to Professor P. Rorsman ( adress: patrik.rorsman at mphy.lu.se). Salary
on the Research Associate scale and ranges (depending on prior experience
and qualifications) between SEK 20000 and 24000.
